Ridding of Verdigris

I have a FE cent that has Verdigris starting, how do I stop/get rid of it?

    Soak it in 100% pure acetone over night. Use a small glass tea cup, and seal the top with plastic wrap.

    Acetone fumes may disolve the plastic wrap. Cover the cup with a small plate or small bowl.

    Ok, thanks guys..I'll try acetone..I still have some left (somewhere).

    Try to find a small baby food jar for the acetone bath.
    I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

    There has been a product called Verdi-Gone discussed here. The ingredient is Top Secret. I believe board member ArizonaJack is a dealer for it.

    Very true. If acetone gets it off, it wasn't verdigris. Try VerdiGone.

    If it's the coin you just posted on the BST, I don't think I would bother messing with it - certainly not to the point of buying Verdi-Gone for it anyway. It doesn't look bad for that grade level and price, and I don't think you will improve it significantly.

    No, sorry. For copper coins only. Thems perty ugly image

    EDIT. Added thoughts. I am not sure if they will work for the CN FE cents either.......or CN Indians for that matter. I would guess stick to copper only.
