Anyone have any experience with selling coins in a hot outside venue?
I'm about to be "on the other side of the table" for the first time at a local arts and crafts festival and was wondering if some of you have done this. Let me set the stage.....
Aug. 15th, in Southeast Ga, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m That should tell you just about enough. It's gonna be HOT and muggy as always.
To those of you who've done something similar: Have the coins that you didn't sell been ok when you brought them home after exposing them to the environment? Besides them being in locked display cases, what steps should I take to protect my coins when on display in the heat?
Most of what I'm gonna be selling is raw coins in 2X2's, a few slabbed coins, and Mint/Proof sets.
Am I cooking up a recipe for disaster?

Agree. A lot of shop lifting with this type of venue. Have a friend sit with you to help you keep an eye on your merchandise.

Not for you...but to keep the red bugs from getting into your coins...
Them little buggers is my least favorite memory of good ol' Georgia...

I agree, I've seen it done by families, kids make trouble and grandma lifts it.

The Brooklet Peanut Festival. Usually draws ~ 10,000 people. A shock for a small town.

Buy or borrow some dealer cases with locks and you should be fine. Also, ask a friend to sit with you to help watch your coins in case you need to take a potty break.

AND have Plenty of Fluids on hand. Dilute a sports drink by 4 times and have a cooler of ice.
Actually if you throw bottles of water in the ice chest, they may sell better than some coins, or give one
for every purchase over 20 dollars.
it is 111 outside and 85% humidity here, Vampire Season....only go outside after dark.
I wish you the best.
