Holder says Red & Brown but coin is obviously Brown
I've often seen old slabs that said the coin was Red & Brown; however, the coin itself had obviously turned Brown since the coin had been slabbed. What is a fair price for such a coin? Any reason to pay more than the Brown price?

As an example, there are mint state brown Lincolns with eye-appeal that is simply out of this world. Throw out the price guide for these pieces as they typically will command significant premiums. In addition, they often sell at prices higher than red-brown pieces of the same grade.

I'm two for three on downgrades this year. And PCGS has been wonderful about it. But I am shocked they let slide a '12 63RD Lincoln that was definitely RB. The grader left a handwritten note that said "enough original red for MS63".
