Both seem like they have booming lustre to me, and are superb examples.
I do prefer the colour of the second one with the slightly more rosy tinge to it, however if I was being super critical I prefer the reverse of the first do to the small toning spots on the second reverse. I do realise that large pictures blow up any tiny imperfections which might not be as noticeable to the naked eye, thus the second might indeed be nicer in hand.
I am just wondering if the first would make a candidate for a crack out and re-submition? I don't know what the price difference is between 64 and 65, and if it would be viable or indeed worth the time, money and risk?
I am also curious as to what grade the second will make? no doubt a high MS. Are you planning on submitting the second coin to PCGS?
I realise grading and eye appeal can be subjective and in this case I could not argue with anyone that thought the second was nicer, or the first was nicer. They are both beautiful.
There is a difference of $400 in the Trends price between a MS64 RD and MS65 RD.
I'll probably submit the second coin to PCGS since I have another coin here I need to submit . I think it'll grade about the same as the first coin. When I saw the second coin on the website I graded it as MS64 RD.

I just had a 1903 come back from PCGS. It was the only one I was gonna keep the rest will be on my Ebay in a few weeks. Scored a 1914 5c out of the bargain bin. It graded 64, but I digress. Here's my "newp" new plastic as it came out of an ms64 ICCS thingy. A rare equal cross. The Vicky just looks good but isn't new

From the images it's hard to tell why the first coin didn't get higher than a 64?
