It has the better proof farthing...the + and F point between the beads.

One last shot before the bay of E...

Here are some photos of the farthing...not be greatest shots, but you can see enough to determine the variety.

    Sold yet?
  • Has it got the rarer crown, half crown, 2 shilling, shillings and six pence as well.
  • Ah, now this is interesting because I just stumbled across my very own set the other day. I actually forgot I had it as it's one of the first things I bought on E-Bay.

But here's the thing- I always thought those coins were "Uncirc". Is there supposed to be some indication that they are proof? Or is it known that they only made the sets (w/ red case) in proof? Coins look fairly ordinary but rather nice in the case, esp. with that "ER" on the lid....

  • There are two sets in circulation, the Royal Mint proof sets, mirrored fields frosted design etc and there are third party speciemen sets. i.e. uncirculated but not proof. Sometimes the cases get mixed mmmm. The specimen sets usually have the Royal mint logo missing from the inner lid and a small gold cross bottom left on the lid
