<< <i>Great, now we are gonna get a token forum........................................ >>
Nothing wrong with that!
If PCGS ever decided to grade other tokens besides just the Low-120... the Token Market IMHO would explode with new interest.
Especially if there was a Token Registry!

PCGS will grade anything in the REDBOOK. appeal the them if you want to see the home team get involved.
BTW this little set is running about 400$ now, even on Heritage auctions.
I bet there's TON of mullah to be made if PCGS would grade HTT's, CWT's, US Trade/Merchant's... etc.
Oh and lets not forget SCD's and Medals!
Is anyone listening
This could be a HUGE game plan for 2009!
Go to Early United States Coins - to order the New "Early United States Half Dollar Vol. 1 / 1794-1807" book or the 1st new Bust Quarter book!
And Conder tokens would make a killer registry as well

Wow, some nice tokens.
I have about 200 that I'm trying to attribute now from a collection put together in the 60's I think. I just finished about 100 store cards, now I need to figure out the rest in patriotic tokens, which I assume will be much harder to figure out. They are mostly Unc's, but all browns.
How realistic are the retail values for the most part in that book ? All opinions are appreciated.
Oops, I forgot to mention the book I'm using. One of my usual senior moments.
"Standard Catalogue of United States Tokens" 4th Edition
Thank you in advance for your opinions of book values.

I wished I could show some images, but my macro lens has been misplaced and the software for my digital microscope isn't working. I'm trying to get my act together, but I feel I'm on a time warp.
In general, would you say the prices are pretty acurate to today's market on the R-1 thru R4's ?
Thanks

That's a good luck token/medal from the Columbian Expo.
7 sided medal
Chicago = 7 letters
America = 7 letters
1492 = 1+4+9+2 = 16 = 1+6 = 7 (1492 being the year that Columbus discovered America)
from South Africa to be delivered

I put them all on eBay, figuring to get $10-20 apiece for them. Which I did, in fact. Except for one.
The first one, the George Goad of Horton, truly astonished me. It languished all week at about seven dollars.
Then, in the final seconds of the auction, it skyrocketed to over $350 when two snipers fought for it.
Turns out is only about the fifth known example, two of which are in museums in the UK.
It's amazing how many times a rarity like this has just slipped through my unknowing grasp.
In this case, I don't mind, because at least I reaped the financial reward. You might say that $350-ish sounds pretty lowball for the fifth-known example of something, but remember, we're talking Darkside AND exonumia. I was perfectly happy with my more-than-three-hundredfold profit.
