2008 Satin Finish MS69 Milestones!

OK - we all know these coins are super tough this year in MS69 grade. So, which "hunters" struck "big game"? I am happy to say I have completed the first full P mint set of (5) State quarters in MS69. Anyone complete a D mint set of (5) quarters in MS69 yet? Anyone build a complete 8 pc. set of P Pres coins (A/B) or 8 pc. D Pres coins (A/B) yet? If I am not mistaken I believe MAS was first (and only) to produce P/D Sac Dollar pairs in MS69? Anyone slab the first nickel or Kennedy yet in MS69? Show or tell about your prize fish. image

  • Congratulations on a great 5 coin set!

We made 4 of the 5 P state quarters I guess on the same day you did? This includes the other Hawaii P that we both must have thought was pop 1. We also came up with (and sold) 15/16 Presidential A&B positions in MS69 SF. The coins we had actually made 2 of the P/D 8 coin sets if you disregarded positional lettering. Unfortunately repeating these things is likely to be a long time coming for us. Our registry set has mostly MS68s now, so working on patience to hopefully find a few Presidents in the coming months. image

Excellent coins guys! Your results are so good that i just ordered 500 more sets to review making it a total of 1,100. I hope to make just a couple of these "rare" coins.

Fabulous work! That dime Michael, as you know, is tough as nails. In fact, on a carefully screened batch of 100 sets - the highest grade back I just received was an MS68 (non-band) coin on the best coin in the batch!!

Impressive work Seth with those Pres $1's, not to mention the P mint state quarters. Yes, I thought I had the pop 1/0 HI P - we'll have to ask PCGS to run a time stamp search to see which one of our coins was slabbed as the pop 1 this week. image

Mark - may the "SF Olympics" continue!! Tme to slab a nickel, Kennedy, etc.!

How about the Sacs... Any more MS69 Denvers yet???
  • wondercoinwondercoin Posts: 16,973 ✭✭✭✭✭
I slabbed (2) Denver MS69 Sacs along with a single Philly MS69 for my Sac sets. So, I believe that makes a total of -5- D Sacs MS69 out there (the other 3 produced by Michael).

Wow, sounds like the numbers are really adding up now on the 69's !!!!
  • wondercoinwondercoin Posts: 16,973 ✭✭✭✭✭
Actually, what is beginnning to add up is the pile of MS68's (and the grading bill). If anyone out there would like MS68's in quantities of 1,000 coins per lot wholesale, send me a PM.
