CANADA mint cellophane sealed early 60s

A few years ago I socked away a handful (few dozens) of such sealed 50c, 25c, and 10c Canadian Silver pieces with dates in the 60-65 range. Looking at them now they each look just outstanding! I'm not sure what these coins are: proofs? Specimens? PL business strikes? Were they sold by the mint individually wrapped?

Question: what would you do with these? Grade them? Just continue hoarding them? What should I expect for those that get really high grades?

Here's an example - note that the coin itself is spotless - the marks you see are all on that wrapper.

Grading them is possible, but IMO not worth the cost. I would just hang on to them as is. They are P-L Sets. The 1960 set should in cardboard and is worth around $50. The 1961 set about $40.

Thanks Don! Back they go in cold storage...maybe my grandkids, or great-grandkids, will reap the rewards...

To the best of my knowledge, the only PLs sold individually back then were dollar coins (up to 1964). In 1968 and 1969 dollars were available in cellophane in strips of 5 each. Otherwise they were sold in PL sets.

You may be right. The 50c/25c/10c are attached to each other i.e. the cellophane is. No $1 though. Either they were taken out of the "set" before my purchase, or only these 3 denominations might have been sold together?

I suspect the 50c/25c/10c were cut out from original sets and sold as silver bullion. The cents and nickels would have been dispersed as rolls. And the dollars hoarded.

The coins with deep mirror cameo contrast with no contact marks are worth a premium! However, PCGS will not note the cameo on their holder so I would recommend those worthy pieces be sent to ICCS, CCCS, or NGC (not sure if ICG notes cameo).
