Essential eBay photographic techniques

Lesson 1 - Indian Cents. Don't be afraid to step back and use a white background.
Obverse:

Reverse:

Sweet coin, eh? Great deep chocolate patina!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lesson 2 - Focus. Don't sweat it. The grade is on the slab

It's nice if you can get the date in focus, though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lesson 3 - Camera shake. It's quite lovely.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lesson 4 - Framing. Be sure to get the whole slab into the frame. Use an appropriate background.

Don't let eBay pull your auction because your photos are not in compliance with the rules!

Lesson 2 - Drinking. Don't bid when drunk.

If this is what you see when you are bidding, stop right now. Have some coffee or sleep it off.

WELCOME to the Forum, Vamsky
I was laughing as I took the indian cent photos. I really did flip the cent. I really did take two photos. I also used an extra large 19x13 piece of white paper to make it look extra small. Sort of what you get if you put an indian cent on a legal size scanner.
I really have seen the flashlight technique used for slab illumination before.
I've got some more ideas coming up for the next chapter.
Great Techniques!

No matter how hard I try, I am not sure I could reproduce any of these.
Edited: BTW my best shots are always when a little alcohol is involved.

<< <i>You forgot to include a photo of the infamous "one-sided" coin. No reverse photo, so it's obviously one-sided and extremely rare!
I bought an O Morgan off e-bay once, thanks to the fact it was only a "one-sided" coin.
