Getting sick of my lazy USPS delivery person

Well, this is the 3rd time in a month she has stuck a signature confirmation card in the mailbox without coming to the door. I mean I know it's hot outside, but come on... Today I actually witnessed it while standing at my front door. Has anyone else dealt with something similar, did you file a complaint?

Yeah, I've had this problem. You call your local USPS (check the phone book), explain you were home and you need the package, and they then send out somebody when the carrier returns and you get your package that day. image

visited the PO personally, discussed with a supervisor. No problems after that. Got a new letter carrier recently too -- the BEST ever.

    Yep, sorry about that...wrong forum
  • Yeah, I had a lady that did that one time. She was a sub for the regular guy, and she didn't even bother. Just assumed nobody was home. I watched her drive off with the package still in her hand. Ughh image

  • Makes me slightly nervous RE: theft of untracked packages, too. Is there any efficient way to complain without doing it in person?

They have a complaint form that you can pick up at the post office. I cannot say for my local carrier, but I deal mostly with a post office in town that I have a P.O. Box in. Because I get lots and lots of registereds etc. I know them all by name, several of the postal clerks I have known for years. They look out for me too, I have had stuff come for the wrong address and they have notified me instead of sending stuff back etc.

UPS can be bad too, my wife ordered stuff and had it dumped on the front step while the driver runs off, but the best was a story I recounted here awhile back where the driver couldn't deliver the package next door because nobody was home, and came over to my place and opened my screen and placed their package in our entry way and ran off.

Well at least they leave you the slip letting you know a package is waiting for you at the P.O.

3 times in the past 2 months I had to go to the P.O. and have them search the P.O. for packages I was expecting. No slip was ever left for me. All were just normal insured mail. I did lots of complaining and that seemed to have worked (after the 3rd time!!!!) .

I never get a knock on the door. They always just leave the slip and take them back to the P.O. I guess having a 3rd floor walk up doesn't help...

I thought that they were supposed to come to your door for that type of stuff........I guess I am lucky, my mail person always comes to the door......Call their supervisor, I bet that will get them to do their job better!

I witnessed this many times and it makes me pretty mad to waste my gas to pick the package up at the PO the next day. Meanwhile I have bent over backwards on a daily basis to make sure none of my kid's cars are parked in front of the box. Otherwise they blow right past my house without even considering to stop, even if I am standing out front and waiting for him.

The USPS rarely ever come to my door step... Sometimes they even forget to leave the pink "sorry we missed you" card in the mail box... image
