He was booed by he crowd upon his introduction. When he came up, the mics picked up this: "Boo? F-you" Anyone else catch that? It happened again when he came up to bat.

    I don't know why he was booed, but maybe because he has a reputation for being a dirty player? Or maybe there were just lots of Mets fans in attendance.

    I also loved the high class NY fans when Ortiz was joking around and the fans booed him...beautiful

    Von - good point about the Mets fans, didn't think of that.

    I won't get on NY fans for booing anybody, we all know Boston and Philly fans wouldn't hold back either on their rivals.

    That's right - the little chubby red suited, long bearded bastige didn't bring me a corvette for Christmas after my 16th birthday like I politely asked for.
