My new condor

1961 Chile 5 Centesimos only 12,000 struck. The darker patches on the coin is are just very shiny spots. In hand the coin looks actually PL.
Pardon my image but I am still trying to get a handle on this new Canon camera.

Nice pics, what type of Canon did you get?

Thanks! I got a Powershot A590 IS. It does a lot of stuff for such a small camera and I can attach lenses and filters to the camera body.

I have a Canon S5 IS, I used to swear by Nikon, but I love the Canons.

I'd worry about breaking more than a camera when skiing!image

    Great shot there! Terrific coin...

I prefer Canon myself and have shot with the F1 and the old XTB all my life. The Canon lenses are, imho, better than the Nikon's, but those Nikon Fs were wonderful... I now shoot with a Canon D Xtr and a small digital Sony that has an attached Zeiss lens...which are the best in the world.

Years ago I had a Canon AE-1 program with all the lenses and I loved that camera. Then I had a Nikon coolpix 4300 which I used up until I got this Canon.
This Canon reminds me of my AE-1 program because it has a program setting just like my old AE-1. This camera is packed full of all kinds of features.

I have been thinking about adding some of the additional lenses you can buy for the S5, but I'm not sure they would be worth the investment for me. So far there has not been a lot I have wanted to do with mine that I have not been able to do.

I remember the AE1s. They--Canon-- began a series of automatic focuses with that camera as I recall and....that was, I believe, new to the industry at the time. A friend of mine shot with AE1s....Very similar tot he F1s.
