Don't you hate being the under bidder especially when you bid fairly strongly?

It chaps my arse. I can't tell you how many times I've been an under bidder on auctions. A recent auction I lost, I bid over a hundred dollars above what this coin in this grade has been going for a STILL came up short! Man that pi$$es me off!! It seems I have a real knack for being an under bidder. I know, I know, bid more, but it's to the point I'd be bidding stupid money on some of these coins and I refuse to do that. I'll bid strong, but I'm not going to pay Moon money since I'm not rich like some of these guys around here. Looks like another 6 month wait, or so, for that right looking coin to come up again.

If you truly want the coin, you should bid the maximum you are willing to pay. That way if you don't win, you didn't want to pay more anyway and someone wanted it more than you did. Supply and demand at it's finest.

Yep, happended to me twice today. Most on the bay are overpriced/overgraded but once and a while they are worth it and will fill that hole. I'm down to the better WL halfs and broke the golden rule of buying the most expensive first. Now I'm suffering as they've double in the years since I started.......

I'm with FlBuffaloHunter on this one. I do lose as underbidder sometimes, but never give it a second thought. I bid what I am comfortable paying, and if someone wants it more it's theirs. Remember, just because you were underbidder sdoesn't mean you could have won it for one more bid, no telling how high the other bidder would go.
