Well, I have my bids in at both the Goldberg and Heritage auctions.
If I win everything I am bidding on, I may
have to sell the children, rent out the spare room
and send Mrs Bear back to work. On the other hand,
what could possibly go wrong.

You may have to go without donuts for a while if you do win everything.
Does bear like donuts or coins more???
So round, so firm, so fully packed.
MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I would also guess if there are a few monsters in your list you put in high bids over what they are generally worth with the assumption they will go to the moon.
With all of this I think you will do just fine and only win the ones you really put strong bids on and those would be the ones I assume you really wanted.
I saw a lot of interesting bust and seated coins in this Heritage LB sale. I wonder how crazy that MS66 PCGS rattler 1818/5 25c will go for? Maybe $75K+ if it is a 67 shot. The 1819/8 50c in a MS65 rattler is also a screamer. Now at at $20K or so. I'm sure that coin will be looked at as a MS66 and probably $40-50K when all done.
The 1866-s 25c in the rattler MS66 holder is one I used to own back in the late 1980's. I owned it for $14K. Today I'd be surprised if it went under $75K and possibly over $100K. It's clean enough to be a MS67 all day long. The one obvious carbon spot does detract and might hold it back. That larger spot was not there in 1988. The several tiny ones around the date were there back then. Ex Harold Blauvelt B&M 1977 at $5000. Later sold in NERCA Fund 1 April 1980 at $46,000. Has not appeared since it sold for around $20K in 1988-1990. I would suspect the current owner has had it since then. Finest known by 2 points imo. The only honest to goodness gem of this date imo though other(s) are graded MS65. Blinding luster and exceptionally clean but a very old dip in the 1970's or earlier.
The other coins I liked I'm keeping mum on.

I placed one two weeks ago, by the way.

The 1891-O Seated Quarter will go for moon money so I know I haven't a prayer on that one. I suspect the 1898-o Barber quarter will go for better than 5 figures. All the seated halves are dogs so it's best not to even bother checking them out....

But then..............I would have to immediately kill you all.
Maybe I will tell you after. I no longer spend to the moon money.
While I may stretch on a coin I like, A collector just can not survive
paying 2-4 times the going price even for a very nice coin. I guess
I leave that honor to the Japanese, European and American
mega millionaires.

Well maybe some gold on Tuesday night.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Have you lost your ballons!
Somewhere, I ran across a few NGC graded nickels up for auction. There must be a reason why I don't remember.............actually I do, I just wouldn't want to wish anything I saw on anyone!

Roadrunner, I'm guessing this is the Reed Hawn coin? Do you know if the Reed Hawn coin was ex- Miles? The Stack coin had toning and was somewhat PL, but if it was dipped as you say after the 1975 sale it might be the same coin. I do not know what the Miles coin looked like.
