Metal detector help

I have been thinking about metal detecting for a while (I live near a bunch of farms and wooded areas). Can you get a decent metal detector for under $200?

The Garrett Ace 250 is a good machine for around that range. I have one and like it alot. I may upgrade to a water friendly detector. I took it to the beach and the salt water wreaks havok on it. Have fun and if you decide to get a detector post your finds. Happy hunting.
