    So instead of being worth $0.0654083 cents each, it's now down to just $0.0632000 cents each?

    Damn, I was gonna melt them all too, but not anymore.

    It is damage, I think that it is occurring during the edge lettering process. I've seen many examples on eBay with similar damage 180 degrees apart on the rim.
