U.S. Philippines Basic Set

Do you think that there should be two slots for the one centavo in the U.S. Philippines basic set (Sovereign and Commonwealth)? I think there should be; what say you?

This is the response I got from PCGS: The design difference between the Centavo U.S. and Commonwealth issues is a modified reverse and not significant enough to separate out in the basic set.

BTW, I agree with you about have ing two slots for centavos. "Not significant enough" of a difference between reverse designs?! image

  • They're listed under Private Issues & Territorial Gold (222).

Are they going to fix that? Philippines issues are neither private issues nor territorial gold. image
