What's the best way to remove haze from proofs?

I have a 1953 proof set in a capitol pastic holder, but all the coins have plenty of haze on them that make the set look like crap. Can the penny be cleaned up the same way the silver can? Thanks for any info in advance.

  • MS70 works great on silver Proofs. I would not use it on copper since it will turn it blue.

MS70 took a big carbon doodie off the chin of abe on a lincoln 79 type2 proof, looked great for a day and then a red streak formed on the back. Now I know why NCS refused to touch that old carbon doodie,

Read the instructions on the bottle.
  • I soak the coin for about 5 minutes and very gently go over the surface with a wooden qtip, barely touching the coin while it's still soaking, if you rub too hard you will get hairlines. Rinse well with distilled water and repeat and blow dry.
