My (Really Bad) Experience with U.S. Coin Supply

I am NOT looking to incite a "lynch mob" against this company - I just want to relate my experience with this seller so that other collectors can avoid the same hassles I had with this "business".
Simple enough- ordered a copy of the Logan/McCloskey book "Federal Half Dimes" from these guys on November 21st and paid (thankfully) with Paypal- about $81.00 including shipping. Payment went through and was accepted by "Allman's Coins and Collectibles".
I usually get some sort of order confirmation from a company when I order, but did not in this case. I usually don't sweat slow delivery, etc.- so I waited for about 3 weeks. When no book arrived, I started trying to contact the seller through the 2 e-mail addresses and the phone number listed on the website. Absolutely no response- no call, no e-mail.
I then started trying to get through through the addresses listed with Paypal- again no response. Long story short, after about 7 e-mails and phone calls that went unreturned, I had to file a non-delivery claim with Paypal. The seller was given 10 days to respond, but didn't respond to Paypal either. My money was refunded by Paypal yesterday because the seller would not respond.
The most infuriating part of this whole thing was the seller's refusal to respond to any questions whatsoever. I was very polite in my requests, but began to feel like a bill collector- getting the guy's voice-mail, leaving unreturned messages, etc. I mean, if the book was out of stock or something-fine- just let me know and refund my money. To simply totally ignore your customers is, to me, unforgivable.
Anyway, I just checked and their website is still up and running and open for business. It says they are located in Aston, PA, and sell at many local coin shows in PA, NY, NJ, DE, and MD. Maybe the guy reads these forums or has friends here- if so, I'd like to hear his explanation. Otherwise, I just want to give other collectors a heads-up and a caveat emptor.

I retracted the whole post. I didn't word it correctly and I don't think the second part was appropriate. My apologies.

I personally know Matt...buy all my supplies and books from him and his lovely wife...
They set up at a number of shows I also set up at...as a matter of fact, I expect to see them next Sunday.
I hope all is OK with them. They were set up at the Parsippany Show in NJ about 2 weeks after your purchase/payment...but I haven't seen them since then.
Hopefully, all is OK...I'm going to let him know about this thread and invite him to post to it...or contact the OP...
(edited to add...I just emailed this thread to the company email address)

On the other hand, I still haven't forgiven the book dealer that beat me for much less than $81. But that was more than 30 years ago, so I think it's safe to say he's not likely to make good.

<< <i>My Wife is in the middle of re-doing Rarecoinbooks.com She has hundreds of vintage coin books and she's a distributor for some of the larger publishers as well, plus a great selection of Eschenbach magnifiers and other items. What started as a simple little buy sell vintage books part time biz has been growing which has justified a whole new website which is being created now and will hopefully be launched before the end of january. >>
Can you let us know when the new site is up? I want to make it one of my regular stops. Thanks.

This is why in the O.P. I clearly stated that there may be an explanation from someone who knows the seller, or the seller himself if he posts here. In fact, in one of my several unanswered e-mails to him two weeks ago, I informed him that I post on these and other boards and would relate my experiences here. I am not trying to get "revenge" on anyone- I was reimbursed by Paypal and am out no money on the deal.
My intent was to protect other members from going through the same frustrations I went through.

he said he had been on vacation - (and forgot to close down his internet site I guess)
it is very possible this guy has done the same thing
PAYPAL being accepted does not mean a thing - just that the email account has a PAYPAL account
PAYPAL loves to play the float - I imagine they could have a BILLION dollars sitting in their site they are collecting something on
