Boom did a good job with the slideshow....should do it a tad slower though, but really good job.
Sad to see him sell what he loves so much but, hopefully, the buy price is way above his purchase price.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

They are sure a lovely bunch of Washies.

I hope Boom gets the price he wants. Wish

I had some money. I wonder if Boom will accept

There are some sweet washingtons there- I'm curious if he will get any bites for that amount. As a collector, I would not want to acquire my collection in that way, assembled by somebody else. Most of the fun is in finding the individual pieces myself...

  • What a set. Boom is one of the good quarter guys. So what did I miss? Is he stepping out of the coin market? Boom still around?

Seems like a great set. But I'm not sure that mentioning set "upgrade" potential (+200%) is a help.

Even though I have absolutely no interest in the series I watched the slide show twice. Excellent presentation, well done. Good luck with the sale, Boom.
  • It seems to me like there would have been better venues than Ebay to sell this great collection.image

Nice set and neat presentation, but I agree, dont know if E-bay is the place for this set??, course giving 15-20% to the auction house is tough to swallow as well!!!!!

I agree nice set! As for the venue, he is asking his price and didn't they just have a 10 cent listing day? Maybe that had something to do with it?

    Good luck Boom

Upon further review I see that he listed it b4 the special listing day but even then it was only 4.80 to list.

    Good for you.
  • Wow, seeing those makes me want to start a Washington set.

Seriously though, I think it's quite simple... When it's time to sell, it's time to sell.image
    P.S. I absolutely LOVE the slide show.image

  • Knowing Warren I am a bit shocked he is selling his number one set off. At either rate the set is top rate and one of the best to be assembled. EYE appeal is the key here and not the numbers on a slab. We all know there are some MS 68 and MS 67 coins which look like crap. Such as nasty toning.
  • To add to this thread.. Auction is over and did not sell. A quarter image for every...

A nice MS 64 coin.. RAW

  • The slide show is nice, very well done.

However, if I'm going to drop 35K on something, I will need to see the details.....in this case, both sides of the coin, & large pictures.

    Just my opinion.

    Nice slide show.

Were the reverses available on the Registry site?

Regarding the pedigrees, what is the "Coin Guy Collection"?

All the photos are in the registry. Check them out.
  • Sweet set

Warren is a dynamo on these boards. I've bought from him on more than one occasion and he's never misled as a Seller and has always gone the extra mile to satisfy his customers. I love the Washington Silver Quarter subset but $35K is way beyond my means. Sad to hear there were no bids, but I bet he's just testing the waters with eBay. Boom welcomed me here on the CU Message boards and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. And I've participated in Swaps, Tags, Giveaways that he has initiated and chaperoned over on the other CU forum.

I hope all is well with him and I wish him a prosperous New Year!.
