First Spouse Presentation Boxes

I have the box waiting for me at home but I am told it looks fairly nice. I am only collecting the FS coins that have Liberty on the obverse. Cannot afford to go for all of them so this box will hold the four that are only liberty.

Are you referring to the after market 4 coin display case the Mint has for sale?

if so...can you provide some decent photos

Can't figure out why such a price difference for the MS versus PR case?

    Thanks

Sure can. I am at work now but when I get home I will take some pics and post them. I opted for the cheap case so the more expensive one might be better. But since it is only going to display I did not want to pay too much for the packaging, if you know what I mean.

I beleive the PR is solid wood the MS is "composite" what ever that means.

I heard the case looks nice also. At this point I would rather have a nice wood PCGS presentation case for the 4 liberty coins.

I have the box unopened now at home. I'am going to wait until I get my Dolly's from the Mint before I open the shipping presentation box.. Then I will open them and stick the coins in.

I will keep my FS coins in OGP (Mint boxes) because they are already pretty looking

My only problem with all of the mint boxes is they start to take up space pretty quick. I will probably get rid of my mint boxes.
  • Since they are coming out with four First Spouse coins a year, the boxes should be on sale as long as the program lasts. They are nice boxes, identical to the original spouse boxes but will store up to four raw coins.

My money is on the Mint putting out a "Liberty" non-spouse presentation case when the 4 non-spouse coins are all out. JMHO

Yea that would be neat. They may also come out with a case for all the First Spouse coins. Now that would be an awesome presentation case image

They originally offered a full set presentation case with the subscription program before the cancelled them. Didn't they? I wonder if they already made the cases and will wait to offer them until further along in the program?

Yes, I remember that as well. They were throwing in a presentation case with each subscription and it was supposed to ship later on in the Fall. I guess they may offer them for sale later on.

They should never have cancelled the series subscriptions. They had a guaranteed sellout of both the proof and MS versions at 20,000 mintage per offering. Now, who knows? With the snails pace that Dolly is sellin, especiially this early in the series, we can be pretty sure that other spouse will not sell out. If they had kept the subscriptions going, they could have raised mintage limits to satisfy all those who did not sign up for the subscriptions.

They missed the golden goose on this one.

DON'T DO IT! Sure, remove the coins for the safe or SDB, but hang onto those boxes. You'll be very glad you did--or your heirs will.

Great minds think alike, I am doing the same thing.
