It is too late for any repricing of the Plats.

This can only be good news for the reverse

    Plat Sets.

Mint pricing for 1 ounce is still $130 more than melt. If it goes another $30 then they might start re-pricing.

The Plat set may sell at 5 % over melt sometime , but the melt may be in the ....... $$$$ 2000s

I believe Platinum is up more than 30% year over year. One consequence this year is now a large % of MS and Proof Plat coins trade close to melt. Yet, many collectors and dealers have still enjoyed fabulous price appreciation on their holdings over the past couple years.

  • If "one" would do a little research, "one" would see that back in 1997, when the first platinum coins were offered, platinum was in the neighborhood
of $400 spot. Now fast foward a few years into the future and you should see it easily reaching $2500+!
Makes the whole low mintage series look quite good from my perspective! image

Makes me glad I started including "common" First Strike BU specimens into my collection a few years back. image
