i`m all over the map too but i`m partial to lincolns, grew up with some whitman lincoln albums in the house and sparked an interest. i like all coins though... too many coins, too little time
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.
This is the only series I'm seriously trying to complete. I've been at it 15 years or so and it will probably take me another 20+ years to complete it to my satisfaction. I guess I'd say it best defines me because it's extraordinarily challenging without being overwhelming. When the set is done, it will probably contain less than 100 pieces, including die varieties, die states and the original dies.

I am but a common man. Born into a hard-working blue collar family. Had to scrap and claw for things as a youngster.
WHat other coin could be more representative of the common man than this:
Say a prayer for the common foot soldier Spare a thought for his back breaking work Say a prayer for his wife and his children Who burn the fires and who still till the earth

Edited for why: Because I started a minor set about 7 years ago with the money I could afford to play with and it grew into a passion.

I collect colonials by type, US Federal issues by type, and classic commemoratives by type, so it is really tough to focus on one type of coin. Somehow, I cannot resist beautifully toned Proof Indian head cents.
Nothing yet. I wouldnt say my SHQ's best define me. I'm interested in just about anything and still learning a lot. Lately trying to learn as much as I can about Morgans. After I feel I have a good grasp on that then something else. Everywhere I look there is something that interests me. I go with what my budget allows so some coins will always be out of my grasp. But I love to look and know at least a little about them.
This is setting up to be a jack of all trades, master of none, type thing isnt it?
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
Old, long winded, boring to some, but if you look close, you'll find variety !!!!!!!

Brothers, the Lord must've loved the common man because he made so many of them. For the same reason, I'm into those lil' copper doohickeys.

I can relate to Curly, LeeG, Tightbudget....
One coin or series just can't best define me. I'm so "bifurcated".

I guess the Victorian type set I am building for my daughter perhaps "defines" me the most, since it is a Daddy's labor of love.
That, and if I had to pick one period in the past to live in besides this one, I would probably choose to be a Victorian gentleman.
