If This Board Represented The TV Watching America...

I'm watching www.ShopAtHomeTV.Com and they're trying to hawk autographed jerseys of HOF quarterbacks with the following prices:
Joe Montana $299.96 - Ebay average is $150.00.
Joe Namath $399.96 - Ebay average is $125.00.
Dan Marino $399.96 - Ebay average is $150.00.
Peyton Manning $399.96 - Ebay average is $200.00.
Brett Favre $399.96 - Ebay average is $200.00.
And they're spouting things like:
1. HOW ON EARTH IS JOE MONTANA LESS THAN THE OTHERS!
2. I'VE HAVEN'T SEEN PRICES LIKE THIS IN YEARS!
3. NAMATH! ONLY PERSON EVER TO GUARANTEE A SUPER BOWL VICTORY!
4. GET THESE JERSEYS NOW BEFORE THE PRICES SKYROCKET!
And stuff like that. And I'm watching this and can't help but to laugh. What if this board represented the TV watching America? Would this show get a 50 Nielsen rating? Win the Emmy for Best Comedy? The funny thing is that 1) the hawkers are being serious about the prices or 2) they're doing a good job acting like they're serious. Honestly, I can't turn it off.
And now they're hawking a 2003 Saint Vincent LeBron James Saint Mary High School PSA 10 for $199.98. Either this is the rarest LeBron card in the world or is practically worthless because I can't find any on ebay.
I know there are threads out there on Don West:

But honestly, how can they advertise this stuff with a straight face or even in good faith?

P.S. Has anyone ever purchased sports memorabilia from one of these Shop At Home shows? Be honest. Or at least tell a good lie.

400, for the Marino ?? I suppose that's about right .
If you're getting Marino jerseys for 150, that's a steal .
Actually I think if you're getting any of those guys for 150 - 200
it's still a good deal .
You're going to pay over 100 for just the jersey
<< <i>Back when I was a kid my mom ordered me a lot fo ken griffey jr cards and stuff. Still have em. Ebay prices are not a good indication of the jerseys value since there are a ton of bad fakes on ebay that bring the avg down. Not justifying the show prices just saying. >>
Sad thing is, buying off of TV is no sure bet either... back in the days of The Don And Eddie Funhouse, Shop At Home got a lot of its auto'd material from Score Board/Ken Goldin. Not everything from them is fake, but let's just say their history is far from perfect
