Another question...what is this?

I know I'm asking to many questions lately and I apologise. I will have a giveaway soon to try and make up for it.

but, what is this? I'm sure it isn't a medal but is it a type of commerative?

I don't know what it is but that guy looks like the "Beefeater" at the Manchester Hotel.
"If I had a nickel for every nickel I ever had, I'd have all my nickels back".
  • I'm sure it is some sort of Scottish commerative or such, and the Beefeater makes me me think even more so

  • I think it is a commmemorative medal issued by English Heritage for sale at their shop at the Tower of London!

  • Thanks for the replies. I have been doing some searches and can't find any info about it. I'm not sure of what it is, the size of it or if it is copper/nickle or anything.

    I will keep on trying.

    Thanks again

It's definitely related to the Tower of London.
  • This is a commemorative coin celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Yeoman Warders, aka the Beefeaters.
In general they are the British guards and soldiers of the royal palace. I think the coin itself is a composition of mainly copper and one or two? other metals, one of which may be nickle as you have eluded to. These were largely purchased and collected by tourists and visitors of the royal palace in commemorative sets and single issues. Not too sure about the mintage numbers on these or any of the British sets though.

  • Thanks a lot for the information. I thought it was an interesting item but I'm not sure if it is worth $11-12 it will go for.

    Thanks again.
