Sharpie remover

I don't know if it is even possible, but I have a glossy photo from the Devil Rays magazine of the Rays top prospects lined up with the title "Baseball's Best Young Nucleus?" , that I got signed during last Spring Training by Delmon Young, Carl Crawford and Seth McClung. McClung over the last year or two has struggled horribly and I was wondering if there was anyway to remove his sig from the picture, because to me, it ruins the picture.

Better to take a nap and allow that
idea to pass from your mind.

  • Ok I understand, stupid question. I was just wondering if you experienced guys had any tricks up your sleeves.
  • You can stop at an office supply store and see if they have Pentel Clic Eraser. Just practice on something else first. I have used them to erase permanent marker on photos ... might work

There is a product that printing companies use
called "var." There are lots of different kinds and
    brands.

If you know someone who works in a print shop,
they will have some type of it.

I think Xerox and Pulse both carry some variety
    of it.

The product will remove MM from any surface, BUT
it will ruin most paper surfaces.

If the picture is on magazine stock, it is probably
hopeless. On photo stock, a Qtip dampened with
var, followed by a FAST wet paper-towel - with a
baking-soda solution on it - MIGHT be safe.

    MIGHT NOT, too.

Like I said, "Nap, good. Ruining Your Sports Memorabilia, Bad."

Goot I say leave it as is even though he has bombed so far if you remove his siggy it is tampering and I bet PSA will never grade your item without a qualifier. I have Tracy Jones/Kal Daniels autos on a yearbook and even though Kal never panned out I wouldn't change it. image

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I recently bought a bat that was personalized with someone else's name. Is there anyway to remove sharpie from a bat (ash bat, no finish)?

I thought you were going to link an auction that someone claimed was for an auto'ed card that they used "sharpie remover" on and now it was a 1/1 "Auto Removed Variation."

The "VAR" mentioned above will do it.
