Best baseball packs 2005 and earlier (but not too early)?

My local hobby shop is having 20% off packs 2005 and earlier. I was on a collecting hiatus then so I have no idea if any of it is worth buying. What should I look for?

    As an example... I picked up a box of 1990 Topps Traded for $8.

    They mostly have 2004 and 2005 packs though.

    It depends on what you are looking for. Autos, Jerseys, Rookies, Inserts?

    Probably rookies and interesting/rare Cardinals cards.

    Bowman Chrome, Bowman Sterling, Upper Deck Prospects and a lot of the Donruss/Playoff products from then may be intriguing, as long as the packs/boxes weren't overpriced to begin with.

    I mainly bought some 2004 Bowman and various years of Topps Chrome. Pulled an Auto redemption of a no name rookie from the 2005 topps chrome (exp 5/31/07) and pulled a Juan Gonzalez game used jersey refractor from the 2003 Topps Chrome. Got lots of inserts but nothing that looks to be of much value.

    I had fun ripping.
