Only an 8yr old can improve on a 2007 Topps Card

This baseball year just started but as of right now it will be the best ever -- my 8 year old son has dumped all that pokemon junk for baseball cards --- instead of whalelord, pikachu, meetwo etc... --- its Reyes, Wright, Arod, etc.... He is so excited to rip a pack and has put all his 07 Topps into pages. I couldn't help but laugh out loud on his view of the #27 card Joey Gathright --- he thought this card was "cool" with him reaching over the wall to steal a homerun but he thinks it is even "cooler" upside down because his grab of a ground ball is "way better" than reaching over the wall. So Joey Gathright is upside down in his binder and I must agree this way is "way better" ----- A little photoshopping for all --- enjoy the workings of an 8 year old mind.

    Very cool.

I'll never forget the day my 10 year old decided buying football cards with his birthday money was much cooler than yu-gi-oh.

Sometimes ya just gotta hope you raised 'em right!! image

Man, you are giving me hope! I'm still waiting for that day, but my son is only about to turn 8! Still has yu-gi-oh and Star Wars ahead of sports cards, although he does enjoy playing sports.

Oh to be young again !
My son just turned 8 too a few months ago, Great age !
I just turned over my whole collection of cards and a few autographed baseballs over to the boy which really didn't effect him all that much in the way of the excitement I expected , so I took him to one of our local memorabilia shops and let him pick his own packs .
Wham! completely different response , the boy absolutely loves tearing into the packs .
And the look on his face and the emotion is absolutely priceless !
He has pulled some really beautiful cards from the packs of Bowman Sterling and the Legendary Cuts and the Greats of the Game, But I think I created a monster.
The amount of cards he has amassed in just a few months took me years to get the same amount for a fraction of the price .
    The one lesson I had to teach him right away was to take extra special care in the way he opens the packs, I mean I almost go into shock sometimes watching him try to open some of them and it usually boils down to me opening them but not looking at them and letting him see them first {That is where the fun is at for him I found out }
It is a great hobby and I know it will be lifelong too.
Now all my cards belong to him and I just live vicariously through him .
For me , it feels good to get back into it in this way.
Matter of fact I think I get just as excited as he does .
God bless the little dudes and let them all have great pulls forever and ever A-men .

Great post and this is something I hope I can do one day with my children. I am still single at this time.

In the meantime, I am giving my nephew a few of my prized cards as his b'day gift. Funny thing is that
his father is also a collector and we all have a blast talking about sports and cards.

    Happy Easter.

I love it! My two older kids started collecting sports cards, but got Star Trek fever and didn't stick to it.

Thanks for taking the time to share the creativity of your son! Nice photoshop work, too, btw...
