Any idea what these little brown spots are on the cards (currently up for bid)?
I've seen them before in other scans. A print defect? Natural toning?

Yes, something that occurred after the cards were graded. They wouldn't grade so highly, and without a qualifier, if the spots were present at grading, right??
Does anyone have a scan of a back marked "sample"? I have yet to see one.
Bid against him at your own peril....

I"m fairly sure the spot on my Ott was there at grading.
I haven't seen sample backs designated as such, I don't think they do. Mine are all raw though, so I"m not positive.

I'm pretty sure they were only available on the low numbers ( 1-115)

Thanks for the link. I had never seen that before. Is the sample wording a stamp or printing? I'm happy that PSA calls it out and just doesn't give a MK designation.

I am pretty sure that it is a stamp.
PSA has only graded about 90 some of the 115.
They haven't graded a Williams yet so I would question if they made every single one??
