I know everyone wants 1993 Finest refractors, but would you settle for a set of 1996 Finest refracto

1996 Finest refractors complete set; including GOLD and SILVER cards!!!

Frankly, I'd be thrilled just to get the regular set with at least bronze and silver (I have a friend who wants $150 for his); I'm not sure I could afford to get all the gold cards. I know everyone here drools over the 1993 Finest refractors, but I'm pretty sure no one would mind getting this beautiful, underrated (for the current bid) set under their tree.

I did the '96 Finest football refractor set minus a few of the silver cards several years ago. I sold the gold and silver refractors but still have the bronze set. I lost my butt when I sold it. Some on the big names in the gold set were $1000 to $1200 cards at one time. If I remember correctly, I paid $675 for the Marino and sold it for around $50.

I guess the moral of that story is this; NEVER EVER buy cards the year they come out!! Just wait a couple years and you can get a whole set (the regular set at least) for about the cost of 3-4 packs (at time of release).

Baseball Set books out at $3,448.00 So if Beckett listed the entire set it would be about a $2,500 set I am guessing. These were high as the football when they came out and someone probably lost their home on building that set at the time haha.

It's now $363 and change with less than two hours to go, so those of you looking for a bargain had better bid now. I would myself if I had deeper pockets.

That's an impressive set and whoever got it landed a pretty nice deal. I don't know what the break-up value would be but a set like that for less than 15% of total book is a nice grab

Indeed they did, plus the seller has all kinds of other refractor sets up for sale as well; he must be a rich guy to be able to have collected all those sets.

And with the refractor set going for so cheap, that is a really encouraging sign for someone (me) who wants to get the regular set with silver and gold; at least hopefully this means even the gold cards are now quite affordable.
