2007 PSA Service Fee and Submission Update
Dear PSA customer,
As a valued PSA customer, we would like to thank you for your continued support. PSA continues to
thrive as a direct result of your contribution. We are looking forward to further expanding our services
and the market in 2007 by bringing peace of mind to more and more collectors throughout the hobby.
Starting January 15, 2007, new pricing for PSA and PSA/DNA submissions will go into effect.
Enclosed, please find a detailed breakdown of the List of Services. While some of the services/fees have
changed, the vast majority have remained the same. Please remember the service fees are based upon
the declared values of the cards.
In addition, we have added a few new services to our ever-expanding list.
On our card submission form, please note that PSA is now capable of grading most modern patch
cards, which are substantially thicker than normal card issues. With the creation of our unopened pack
holder, these premium cards can now be encapsulated in, arguably, our finest holder to date after
making some custom modifications to the mold.
Speaking of unopened packs, we have now added a third service level for all Topps regular issue packs
between 1952 and 1956 with the addition of our latest customized holder. Please check our website for
additional updates to the available pack holder sizes. We hope to expand this list throughout 2007.
Furthermore, PSA is currently working on enhancements to holders currently utilized by PSA, namely
pre-war material. Cards that were once encased using a Mylar sleeve will soon be housed in a holder
offering a tighter, custom fit. This should provide a much better frame for these prized cards, adding to
the presentation value.
If you should have any questions about the new submission pricing and/or rules, please contact
customer service toll-free at (800) 325-1121.
Sincerely,
Joe Orlando, President

I would also like to see the prices. Specifically the modern thick cards. I just sent in a 60 card order with several cards that were borderline on thickness. Just curious if they will be holdered.
Thanks so muh for offering this service. It will allow me to expand my player set.

The way Carol's message is written, I would guess its "cut" from a form letter PSA will be sending to all its members. Inside that letter will be the new cost breakdown.

You will be able to submit these cards starting at Modern Service (and up)
We won't be offering these new holders until after the New Year. Also, the thicker cards will need to be submitted on a separate form with its own return shipping. If your order is completed prior to the new holders being here, they may be shipped back and you will receive vouchers.
Yes, we are mailing all current PSA Collectors Club members the new fee schedule. Depending on how busy the Post Office is people should start receiving them next week.

<< <i>How thick of a card can the new holder handle? 100 point? 150 point? Since you just reworked the mold, someone should know off the top of their heads. Thanks in advance,
Joe >>
This is not something I know and any one who does has left for the day. I will try to find out this info and post it here.

<< <i>Thank you Carol. I just took advantage of the $5 per card special. Hopefully when then new holders are available next year you can have a special on those, since we can not use the current special on them till January. Thanks again for listening to the members wants.

That would be great and induce a huge influx of cards. Pre War special

I understand it's the holiday season but did anyone find out the answer to the above question re thickness? Also, I haven't recieved the new pricing schedule yet (being down under, mail takes a little longer) - can anyone update me on the changes plus the thicker card grading pricing?
also i believe the new THICK card slabs will slab any thick card....why would they design a new slab that would not be able to house ALL thick cards....the sweet spot sig cards are the thickest around and i believe they can slab them.....

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but it's clear from her post that not all patch cards can be graded and that the new slab is not the same as the pack slab. I just want to hear from PSA how thick a card can be and still fit in their new slab, which I think is a reasonable request.
Joe
If you check out the "Grades popped from $5 special -pics of new holder" thread, it appears they use the pack case, but with various backings to handle different thickness of cards.
Clear Skies,
