Well I took the plunge and ordered a box of halves from a bank in town.
I found the following silver:
2 1964
1 1966
1 1967
1 1969
I also found 2 1983-p no FG's ( I think) See pics.
here is the total breakdown:
Any reason there was no 1975 kennedy's.

Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.

Could be possible if you buy from someone in China...after all, my friend went to Hong Kong and came back with a 1906 Silver American Eagle Dollar
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>The 1987 was only issued in mint & souvenir sets. And the 2001's were not issued for circulation. So pretty neat finds IMO. >>
Correct on the 1987 point.
Incorrect on the 2001 point.
They did get released (at some stage) and I, last year, got a $500 box of them from the bank. I returned all but a couple rolls that I left in their OBW.....

<< <i>i am finding little to no silver in these boxes of halves lately. is it possible the place where halves are rolled and boxed has a machine to sort out the silver? >>
It's unlikely they are systematically removing silver and most of these
companies disallow or discourage employees from pulling it out. There
probably are numerous bank and counting house employees who are
allowed to remove silver if it doesn't interfere with their duties.
Simple machines can be made to separate it but since a lot of silver comes
in in discreet batches, it's probably easier to just keep it from getting mixed
in the first place.
