PCGS ANNOUNCES WORLD COIN POPULATION REPORTS

World Coin PCGS Population ReportsSM are now available on the Professional Coin Grading Service website at www.pcgs.com. The new reports show a tabulation of all world coins graded by PCGS in all grades, allowing buyers and sellers to determine the relative importance of a particular coin. According to PCGS President, Ron Guth, “There’s been a lot of demand from collectors and dealers for data concerning world coins. I see world coins as a tremendous growth area for PCGS and this is just one part of our strategy to strengthen and build our market share.”
Visitors to the PCGS website may access the World Coin PCGS Population ReportsSM by clicking on the PCGS Population ReportSM link under “Essential Information.” This takes the visitor to a Login page where new members may sign up for a subscription or where paid subscribers may log-in to their account. Upon log-in, the visitor clicks on the “World Coins” link at the end of the US section, then selects the desired country from a list of alphabetical links. Population data is presented by denomination within Mint State (MS) and Proof (PR) categories.
No print versions of the World Coin PCGS Population ReportsSM are planned.

Yes, very difficult to figure out the way it is. >>
Yeah. I noticed that.
We'll also be adjusting the sort orders for many of the countries.
Any other suggestions...please let me know.

One suggestion -- can you get the IT folks to add a line of grades after the totals so we can better match them to the pops?

I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
Try going to one of the larger countries, say Great Britain for example. There is SO much data on that page, that by the time your web browser is done rendering the tables, you have a page that is incredibly slow to browse through. It just bogs down entirely, especially under Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer enables you to ultimately browse faster once the page is built, but it takes much longer to initially render the page. This is on a brand new Core 2 Duo box with 2GB RAM... I shudder to think what folks using older computers are encountering.
Also, are those blue TOTAL lines at the top of every page summarizing denominations really necessary? If so, could they be posted at the bottom rather than at the top? Alternatively, one way to make them more useful would be to make them clickable links to where the listings for that denomination actually start... once the sort orders are fixed.
It has a ways to go before it's fully functional, but it's a good start!!
