What your opinion on this one. Can't wait to get it in hand and see what it really looks like. Krause lists it as Rare.

I was *this* close to bidding on that coin, but after searching coinarchives.com I had second thoughts. I saw a lot of examples with this exact design having sold for $180-300, but all were referring to it as a "michelspfennig". What I don't know is if all those auction results were for a smaller denomination of the same design, or for the same coin.

I figured I'd better pass since I didn't know what I was getting into...

Either way it looks to be in lovely condition.

Yeah that one that's VF sold for $126 2 years ago. I think it might be called a michealpfennig because of Archangel Micheal. I think it might have been a decent deal at just over 500 but who knows the grade is way better than the one on Coinarchive. The other thing that says something to me is that NGC hasn't graded any other ones. I like the design and that's what matters the most. My 3 year old also really like DragonTales so I think he'll like it too.

Do a search under "beromunster" (removing the second "e"). It brings up a whole lot of other results.

HMMMMM Well maybe I didn't get the best deal, but judging from the other grades and dates I think I didn't get ripped off.

I agree - it is a beauty. I was also following the auction closely more out of curiosity.

Weakly struck (typical of Thalers of that era) but quite beautiful coin; elegant design and lovely toning.

Slightly off topic but still NEWP. Here's another cool score off ebay from a few months ago. I thought it was fake when I got it but I sent it in anyway, it just seemed too nice. I just got it back a few days ago.

Then this Yemeni piece is just super nice. I love middle eastern coins. They seem so strange and foriegn.
