Canada Medal of Bravery Dollar

Hi

I understand that Canada has recently issued a one dollar commerative Medal of Bravery Coin in several versions, including one that has an enamal reverse. I understand the mintage was minited to 5000 coins and that although priced at about $110 by the mint, they are already about twice that in the marketplace.

If you liked the coin and wanted one, would you buy now or wait to see if the price will go down. I do not collect Canadian coins, but I think that this is a beautiful coin and it has my interest.

Thanks

Planchet

someone posted something about this coin in the US forum and out of curiosity I tracked it. contacted the ca mint a few hours after the sale started and it was a sellout. that's fairly fast. though I think the design is somewhat, just "nice" ? maybe it's a canadian "thing", like the marine commem was a US "thing"

I get mailings and e-mail from the RCM, and I had no idea this coin was being offered until now. image

    Obscurum per obscurius
  • Very low mintage and broad appeal to veterans, servicemen and families of same.
The Canadian mint seems to be releasing more limited production items at higher
prices. People, (including me), are getting hooked. I am in to the $800 palladium
coin, the $300 seasons coin and the $100 flag and mop dollar. I missed out on the
$50 square coin, the medal of bravery $100 coin and the palladium privy coins.
If another enameled dollar comes up, with low mintage numbers, I'm in.
I'll leave the standard stuff alone.
