What about not allowing fans of teams who blow 17 point leads and lose to talk trash, either?

What about fans who live or at least grew up in close proximity to the team for which they root.

You're out of here. Your mother is more of a fan than you. Good woman.
  • Okay, what if your team might go to 0-2 today? Can you still talk smack about another 0-2 team?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

just got back from the game ... worst regular season game in a looooong time. We lost this one.

Wasn't McNabb and it certainly wasn't the Giants being a better team. The Eagles up 24-7 seemed to just play like the game was in the bag. Even after the fumble TD to cut it to 10 didn't seem to matter.

Horrible play calling. WTF Thomas Tapeh was doing in there was beyond me. And how LJ, Westbrook and Stallworth could drop those balls is another. The Eagles should have put those guys away in the fourth quarter, as this could have been one of those games that the almighty giants fall to 0-2, and instead they have a game to rally on.

I have to say that ridiculous penalty cost the Eagles the game. What's that guy thinking, stomping a guy with the game on the line?

Bottom line...I don't mind if Reid does the right thing and calls the right plays and doesn't suceed, and loses the game...that's football. You have a 10 point lead, ten minutes left and with the football, and you're been scoring points all game, dammit RUN THE FOOTBALL at that point - you're trying to run out the clock... Your D gets some breathing time and will be stronger when they get out on the field...this is fundamental football for cripes sake! On two series he calls pass plays on first down which were incomplete and stopped the clock - that alone cost them the game, among some other things.

Reid sometimes likes to get "cute" and that is fine at the right time and the right opponent. This was the wrong time to get cute and call first down passes when you want to eat up the clock and give the D as much breathing time as possible in the 4th quarter when D's are very tired.

Of course Reid "takes the blame" at the press conference. Well he "always" does that! Dammit Andy think ahead a little bit next time and learn basic clock management, or have someone in the booth to guide you, so you wouldn't have to "take the blame" after a needless loss like this.

Hopefully the Eagles will make the playoffs, get into the Super Bowl and this loss won't come back to haunt them - we'll see. But what a chitty way to p*ss away a game that was basically won.

Happy to see the team playing well yes. Hey, McNabb passed for close to or more yards than the total Sucs O, with the rushing game adding another 100.

Yapping? You're the best at that.

Who was that #28 running so well for Atlanta? Warrick Dunn. Didn't he play for somone else. Ohh yeah, the Bucs!!!

Come back and see us when you pull for a team that's in your area and in a city where you have spent more than 3 days, can score more than 3 points, and has a QB that can throw over the line without the aid of a stepstool.

    Choke time so far -

    Eagles - 10 minutes

    Sucs - 120 minutes

    God Bless dlcayard.

And if you knew anything, you'd know that Atlanta offered him more money than the Bucs wanted to spend. But then, you're an ignorant FOOL who knows nothing, so I'm not surprised.

Please tell me where it's written ANYWHERE that you HAVE to root for the 'local' team. You root for a team thats a 1000 miles from where you live. Talk about hypocritical!

A loss is a loss, you schmuck. But then, when you're trying to console yourself over blowing a SEVENTEEN POINT lead in the FOURTH quarter, you're going to fumble for any and every excuse possible.

Time to get back under your bed you simple minded twit.
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,026 ✭✭✭✭✭
Yes blowing a 17 point lead sucks - I admit it...but at least we scored some points to blow. Your team scoring 3 points in two games has got to be one of the all time worst performances from any football team in the history of the NFL. Simms should be released and Gruden fired. Hiring a local high school football coach along with the high school quarterback couldn't have done much worse than Gruden and Simms in those two games.

So if Gruden is such a terrible coach, what's that say about Reid? I mean Gruden has a super bowl win after all, Reid doesn't. When are you going to call for Reid's firing?

What if your team is 0-2 but one of your assistant coaches was caught driving while intoxicated and naked? Any special dispensation for that?

Oh so quick with the name calling.

Yes Dunn was offered more money. Why, because the Bucs didn't think they needed him and thought he was washed up. Wrong!!! Same with Brad Johnson and Brian Griese. The list is actually longer. Would you like me to continue?

I grew up 10 miles from Philly. Moved to FL 12 years ago and still own Eagles season tickets. There goes your argument. Take Mommy's advice and become a Niners fan. Maybe someone will give you tickets.

    Last but not least -

Bucs two game score - 3

Eagles score - hell they scored 8 times as much in one game!!!!

Don't worry. The Sucs will tie in the bye week.

    God Bless dlcayard.

It's not 'name calling' when it's an accurate description.

How many Eagles have been let for exactly the same reason? It sucks, but it's business, never personal. How many top flight players have the Patriots let go since they won their first super bowl? Look, it's apparent you don't understand the business side of football, and that's ok, just don't try to talk like you do, ok junior?

But you aren't rooting for the home team. You don't live near Philly, thereby you aren't rooting for the home team. There goes your argument, twit. Try again next time!

And they are seperated by just one game!

I've got a score for you sparky:

    Bucs Super Bowl Wins: 1

    Eagles Super Bowl Wins: ZERO

How you like them apples, chump?

How many ex-Eagles did anything after they left? I could be wrong (I doubt it) but my answer is zero.

The Super Bowl argument is getting really old. Yessir, the Bucs won that year, beating my Eagles along the way. They were a better team that day and arguably were the hottest team during that playoff stretch that I can remember. Gruden inherited a team that was all Tony D -- and got lucky. No smack intended, as luck is something every Super Bowl needs a little of.

Reid and the Eagles blew a 17 point lead. It was horrible to witness, but I have a feeling that it will not happen again this year. Why? Because Reid is one helluva football coach, and has been since he took over a 3-13 team and turned them into winners. They are the cream of the NFC East and anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Can you please tell me, then, what team Callahan inherited on the way to the super bowl? If you want to give Dungy credit for the Bucs, then by default you HAVE to give Dungy credit for the Raiders, no?

<<< How many ex-Eagles did anything after they left? I could be wrong (I doubt it) but my answer is zero. >>>

Allen Rossum has had a "decent" NFL career but the Eagles just didn't have room for him on the team at the time. But you are right - the answer is basically zero. Especially with the star players - some have played about the same but most have been worse and some much worse like Hugh Douglas. A guy like Trotter really didn't help the Redskins all that much compared to what they were paying for a linebacker. Cory Simon helped the Colts but he had zero, count 'em 0, sacks for the Colts last season. You can even now count Owens among that group so far - He did "nothing" in his second game and already is missing games due to injury. Really, the Eagles under Reid have quite a remarkable record of keeping the right players and at the right price for what they are worth to the team - this is called EFFECTIVE salary cap management and is vital to winning in the NFL.
