    Nope, a little water in the garage because a county truck hauled a$$ through 4 ft of water causing a wave that trashed many garages ..... a little bit in the crawl space too from that wave which I have to clean up tomorrow. FORUNATELY my house is pretty high up from the road. Others were not so lucky ....

    You got lucky then. How close are you to the shore ? River ?

    Im only a couple of blocks from the harbor and LI sound here but way up on a hill, probably 200 ft above sea level.

    Anyway, 6 miles from the beach and no rivers. What we have is a piss poor retention basin and has been argued about for YEARS. The jig is up ...

    The mailman made a poor decision image As did a nice yound lady with a baby who came down my street, made a left and got stuck next to the mailman.. Had to be "rescued".

    The funniest sight of all was the fireman on the Sea Doo. My front yard became a beach with TONS of kids frolicking on my front yard and jumping in. It was insane image

    Yikes! No worries with them here! Still, that water was nasty. I am telling the complete truth when I tell you that THREE different vehicles way up my street pulled up and dropped off kids complete with rafts and tubes. I'm tellin ya, what a weird and surreal experience ......

    not to mention it is SPIDER season and many are homeless at the moment out and about for all to see .....

    Wow, thats a whole lotta rain in a VERY SHORT time !!

    Seeing the kid on the kayak reminded me of waiting on the big rains to go whitewater kayaking down in West Virginia & western Penn.

    This is me about 4 yrs ago on the New river (WV).

    I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that the cottonmouth's venom is actually a nerve agent. Does anyone know anything about that one way or another?

    Also, a note and an observation for Dan.

    1) Your neighborhood is much nicer than mine.
    2) Where do you live?

    I killed a Cottonmouth with my hedge trimmer a few years back. They are surprisingly aggressive.

    Boo,

    I love my "hood". I am exactly 6 miles due west of Long Beach Island in southern NJ. My wife won't rest until she gets us to move to Southern Florida with her family. Probably in 2-3 years. image

    Anyway sewer system SUCKS. I am no where near a river or ANY body of water. PLUS with the sandy soil that southern NJ is NOTORIOUS for, this kind of thing about as common as seeing a leopard in my backyard. This needs to be fixed and has been a ongoing "discussion" with the town. I do think discussion is OVER image
