Anybody ready to watch it live in an hour? I do not have any bids in this time, but there are some lots I am interested to watch to guage price levels.
Interesting - it would appear that all 8 austrian talers were bid entirely by floor bidders (as opposed to internet bidders). I suspect a 'floor bidder' also includes advanced bids executed by goldberg on behalf of fax/mail/phone bidders. Prices look like they were generally near estimates. I was watching these 2 in particular: 1777 salzburg 1700 salzburg
Were these the 2 reales you mentioned? Absolutely stunning! I considered bidding (based on the estimate), but now I see that I would not have been in the ballpark. 1761 1737
I also considered bidding... I thought the estimates were about right, in those cases.
I can't believe what the 61 sold for. that's ridiculous money. The peru 2 reale went for higher. >>
Yes, but the 1761 is one of the most attractive coins I've ever seen in my life!! Wow, it's stunning.
.....GOD
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
I am curious as to what some of you all think about the prices realized and perhaps the number of coins that may not have sold. It seems that high end quality is doing well and then there is everything else which does not seem to be moving well.

I admit the question of market "softness" has gone through my mind, but I am glad it is not being discussed here like it is in 5 out of every 10 US forum threads. I think a slowdown in prices and activity is probably welcome by many on this forum. Granted, it might slow the arrival of new coins on the market, but perhaps it will cool the price explosions in some areas of the darkside.

Still, for that amount... I would never have thought it would bring over a grand.
