OT: Match Books

My uncle found these in his basement. Seems to think they may be collectible. Dated 1950 marked Whithall 4-9615 & 4-9616. Anyone know? Thanks.

I sold a set of 20 different Chicago 1950's era matchbooks on Ebay in July 2005 and received $3.

I removed the matches so I could mail them legally.

The "girlie" picture might bring extra interest, however.

I don't collect them, nor do I know a thing about them, but I do think the ones you have are very fascinating, and should be very collectible! Great artwork, and they're in perfect condition. I'd assume that their value would be much higher with the matches, and not without. Have you tried doing a Google search for more info? Also, you might try posting on the Open Forum.

I wonder if the Playhouse Cafe is still in business? I don't live in Chicago anymore, so I can't check.
