Aloha everyone,
Most of you dont know but after much debate and soul searching, the family and I have decided to get out of the Navy and move towards a new career in numismatics. I thoroughly love coins and the people that collect them. Everyone here has been instrumental in helping me make this decision and I want to personally say thank you from the
bottom of my heart.
Many other dealers have counseled me to sell at auction, saying that I would be leaving money on the table by selling to customers, but I personally would rather see these coins go to those that I know are true lovers of the hobby and wont end up messing with them or altering them in search of the mighty dollar. These coins will be priced strong, but not stupid strong like we saw bring in many recent auctions. And, I will support my market...name an auction company that will do that.
Details will follow as to when and where the business will get started. If everything works out as I think it will, it will make most everyone here excited to see a fresh perspecitive and "fresh" faces in the regular dealer community. I would appreciate if you keep us in your prayers as we make this transition. I am, by nature, a conservative person...so leaving the Navy behind is quite a step!
Many coins will be placed on hold when I list them from the get go. I have done this to give people that have approached me over the years and asked me to give them first shot in the case they went on sale. If you see something on hold, please dont think it is sold.

1872 PCGS PF66 Shield Nickel - 1850$
Beautiful hard mirrors and original surfaces grace this coin, a part of a series that is so often seen bright white and dipped. This is an excellent choice for a high grade type set and for a collector that doesnt want to sacrifice eye appeal for originality.
1829 PCGS MS63 Bust Dime - ON HOLD!
This coin used to reside in a SEGS PF 61 holder. It was obviously not a proof due to striking issues. It is semi PL and totally original in my opinion. Very wholesome with excellent eye appeal. An ANACS MS63 of the same variety recently sold for 4000$ at auction, and it doesnt have nearly the appeal of this coin.
1875-S PCGS F15 Twenty Cent - 225$
This coin, and several others, might seem out of place compared to the other mid to high grade type. However, I am just as enamored with truly original virgin mid to low grade coins as higher grades. Beautiful album toning over clean surfaces. This is a PERFECT coin for a virgin type set in low grade.
1909-O PCGS MS64 Barber Quarter - 3600$
One of the coolest dates on the planet!! This coin has the lowest pop of any barber quarter, and is considered by some to be the hardest date to find above Ch. VF grades,
especially originial. A true undervalued key date quarter. This coin is completely original with light champagne toning over satiny lustrous surfaces. The reverse is semi pl. Very well struck as well, although most 09-O's I have seen are better struck that most New Orleans issues.
1820 PCGS AU55 Bust Half - 2000$
One of the key dates in the series. Not completely original, but gorgeous none the less. This coin has 75% luster over sunset kraft envelope toning. Great strike and a very tough coin to find with this kind of eye appeal.
1825 PCGS AU58 Bust Half - 1800$
Deep mauve and rose toning over very clean surfaces with nice luster. This coin is highly irridesent and has top of the line eye appeal. A common date with an uncommon look.
1825 NGC AU55 - 1500$
In for grading at PCGS...
1828 NGC MS63 Bust Half - ON HOLD!
In for grading...
1831 PCGS AU58 Bust Half - 1250$
A very solid original and eye appealing coin on a date that I have found hard to find in my bust half pursuits. Lovely deep blue and mauves with peripheral luster. A little short on the luster department in my book to be a full AU58, but it is still a very difficult, original and beautiful bustie.
1832 PCGS AU55 Bust Half - 1750$
This coin used to reside in an NGC AU58 holder. PCGS thought it should only be AU55. They also thought that about my 1818 and 1823, yet I consistently see sub par AU58's with little or no luster show up in holders??? Regardless this coin is very original and pleasing with deep greens, oranges and purples. My first ever bust half, and I bought it raw.
1833 PCGS AU58 Bust Half - 1150$
No crazy colors on this one. Just great luster and an amazing reverse strike with semi pl sufaces on the reverse. This used to be in an NGC AU53 holder, sold it to a customer and told him that I thought it would 58 at PCGS. He sent it in, got the upgrade and I bought it back...for a nice healthy profit to him.
1837 PCGS XF45 Bust Half - 500$
500$ for an XF reeded half???? You have to be crazy, LT!! Find me a better in XF, that looks like this. I'll buy them at 400$ all day long...

No sweat getting out of the Navy. I did it twice. Broken service. 82-86 and 88-90.
Still work for Uncle Sam though so I didn't jump too far. There is life after the Navy even though the Navy is a sweet ride as well.
Absolutely nothing negative about serving your country for your prescibed tour and then getting out.

If I were capable, I'd be willing to drop thousands plus some on those coins. Those are true beauties and price guides don't apply to those. I can't say I blame you on bit. If I was in your shoes, I would get out as well. I'm looking to get back into the coin world employment when I retire. I've got too many years in to let that retirement check go.
I'm sorry that you are selling some of your pieces. Always a hard thing to do.
