New to the board

Hello Everybody.

This is first post here. I was/am a senior member on the Beckett ( aka as the Kiddie ) Board.

That board has more locks than the Panama Canal.

I am serious HOF autograph collector . I am in the big bucks category for any new HOF to my collection.

I am the process of developing a website like Raymond.

My lastest are Clemente and Rabbit Maranville.

I am starting to collect other autographs like MVP and Cy Young winners.

I stay away from wax , but I do buy a Topps set every year. I have a complete Topps set from 1970 to 2006.

I live in the Boston area.

I have worked for the same company for 28 yrs, ( 25 has employee and the last three years had an independent consultant)

I try so stay out of flame wars on these boards.

This is a hobby for me , and I rarely sell anything .

Tom

Hi Tom. Welcome to the boards. I think you will enjoy your stay here alot better then on Beckett. I did the Beckett thing for a while but mostly everyone over there was concerned with getting the latest "game used" junk or buying tubes of Clearacil.

Most of the members here are great although lately we have been infiltrated by a few trolls. You will soon see who they are and its best just to ignore them.

    Have fun.

  • I wanted to use a new screen , so despite my advanced age , I have two young boys.

They are into Yu gi-oh cards. I let them pick my screen name.

The runner up was Dark Magician

Welcome to the board Tom! image

Sounds like you have quite the autograph collection. Do you collect TTM or strictly purchase? I too collect auto's, some ttm, some bought, some in person. I just collect within my budget and collect what I like. There are some great guys on here with some INCREDIBLE items in their collections. Thats what's cool about this board. No matter if you collect the latest hot rookie, Joe Schumck who is a common or pristine Babe Ruth cards, everyone is welcome and treated with the same respect. So even a small fish like me can swim in the pond with the big boys! image

Glad to have you hear and I look forward to seeing your collection. image

  • Hi exodia, Welcome aboard.image

I am formally from the Boston area (Haverhill). I like collecting old Celtics autographs and cards. I have 1961 Fleer cards of K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, Cousy, Bill Russell, Heinsohn. Also a Havlicek RC. All PSA 8. Also autographs of Red Auerbach, Havlicek, Heinsohn, Cousy, Bird, Russell, the Jones. Loved going to the old Boston Garden in 50's and 60's and watching them play. Nice memories.

    Again welcome.

Always nice to see some new names sharing their knowledge. Keep it comin'!

The only HOF auto I have is Mr. Puckett's 3 times. Otherwise I have Billy Gardner's on '60T and '62T cards from when he managed the late '70s Denver Bears teams. I also have some random Twins autos when they traveled around the state during the winter months...

  • Tom,

Welcome -- I'm realitively new as well and have enjoyed my time thus far.

I am putting together a '60 Topps Baseball set and and am now finding myself buying/collecting a lot of other cards I didn't anticipate. The addiction is once again taking hold after a long layoff. I love it!

    Great name by the way.

    Hi Tom!

Do you have your collection or a list posted anywhere? It's always nice to see what other people have, there's a lot of stuff I'll never get to see except here!
