Thank you again for this Hoof. I think its a good idea and the q & a idea is good too.

The only problem I think is that there is no way for certain to be sure that entries are accurate or that everyone will respond but let's hope for the best and see what happens.

There's always that possibility. Seeing what goes on on MySpace.com, it's hard to imagine there is much shyness in the youger generation! I have high hopes any under 18 wouldn't hesitate to speak up!

I think it would also be nice to see a poll of where people are from. Perhaps a state by state poll? Can that be done? I'm not familair with the polls.

Several months ago there was a thread that had some kind of map where, once you input your address, a flag would appear on the map. If I remember correctly, the majority of participants were on the East Coast.

I'll have to see if I can find a link to that one...
  • HoofHeartedHoofHearted Posts: 2,537 ✭✭
Here's the link to the map Knuckles started: PSA Members on the map.
  • In the early part of the polling, it looks like us 30-49 years old make of the majority.

I'm in that grouping as well. Interesting poll so far.
  • bri2327bri2327 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭
I think there is a big flaw in the poll. The age groups could have been done differently to give a better representation of ages. 18-29 only covers 11 years, while 30-49 covers 19 years. Maybe if the poll was under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and so on it would have been better. The way its setup 30-49 will obviously contain the vast majority of people, where if that age range had been split in 2 groups, 30-39 & 40-49 it would be clearer. Other than that, nice idea !

bri - I dont think either way is incorrect although I see your point. I wonder how many 18-29 people are 18.

The point was that we were trying to determine how many people under 18 visit here. I think the current poll covers that.

I think the poll is the better way to go.

A few years ago someone asked how old are you and some got their feathers ruffled.

This is a hobby that spans the age groups and keeps all of us young at heart.

That is funny. I can picture Southerncards as similar to Jehovah's Witness missionaries who knock on our doors during dinner time. If Southerncards lived nearby, he probably wanted to set up something where he can come to your house to pass out literature about SGC.

and here we go again with the personal attacks.

Do you all really want to turn this thread into a slam-a-thon like all the others? I've already been called an idiot. Now we're trying to find out some good info and some people want to act like children.

wow southerncards, wow, must be cool to still be living with your folks.....

maybe next week we can look under Mary Lou's dress at recess.

oh nevermind, those were personal attacks posted by you in the last few days.. and you posted those attacks in perfectly good threads, and you attempted to derail them with your childish comments..

edited to remove the 2nd time youve been called an idiot..

pandrews - you and a few select others were the first to begin the personal attacks.

At some point we all need to grow up and focus on the issues at hand. Every time I try, someone changes it into a personal attack on me. With that, I retaliate. If you and the one or two others wish to cease this activity, that's fine with me. If you want to continue, I'll just ignore you from here on in.

It's nice to see those in their 20's and teens on the board.

I'm 28, going on about 20 or 21. I want to stay in my 20's for as long as possible....

well, i know you jumped in 2 of zef's threads, and i think the worst thing he's ever said to you was "take your agenda somewhere else"..

on the other hand, i may have possibly said something worse to you in the past..

You and I have no doubt sparred in the past. As for the 1 or 2 others, I'm not going to name names or start linking previous threads. I'm done with the comments, both mine and from others. Grade with who you want, or not at all. Just be happy with your decision and enjoy your collection.

Ah, 30 aint too bad. I've been 30 for 6 months now and it's a fine age. However, I have started to call anyone under the age of 24 "kids", so I think "it's" starting. It's 40 I'm really worried about! image

I'm not really worried about 30 or 40. I'm more worried about those later years when I start crapping in a diaper. It was bad enough the first 12 years of my life, I don't want to do it again.

I'm learning that life has a way of giving you what you need whatever age you are. When I was 20, I couldn't imagine not knowing exactly what teenagers thought. When I was 30 and was no longer in touch with teen angst, I couldn't imaging not having a wild night life. When I was 40 and no longer having a wild night life, I knew I'd never stop being a liberal. When I turned 50, and those freakin' liberals were spending my hard earned tax money, I at least was confident I'd never stop pulling for the underdog.

Now, I just want to relax. I imagine by the time I'm crapping in diapers, I'll be glad for the relief.

If you are healthy, age is not that relevant.

I met a guy 60 years old one time. He was in excellent shape and I thought he was thirty something because although he had a smooth face, his hair was snow white, but all there. I just thought the guy had whitenning early (he could dye it and get away with a young age easy). I was totally surprised he was 60. He runs everyday, is a teacher at college and eats mint chocolate chip ice cream.
