Yes there are! The rage in certain circles is Vietnamese Oils. When the french occupied VietNam for 60 odd years ( imagine that one), they set up art schools. The Viets are very creative to begin with and adapted their own brand of creativity to the french technique. The results have been terrific and now a lot of people in the art world swarm over galleries in Saigon, bringing these pieces back to find them quite a value.
