Originally from Rockaway Park, New York, Winters lettered for the 1972, 1973 and 1974 Frank McGuire South Carolina team and was named as an All-American in his senior year. The team captain during the 1973-74 season, Winters scored 1,079 points in 82 games as a Gamec**k.

I ripped a box last night and got the base card which is a different picture then the one they used on the auto card. There are a couple on Ebay so that's the route I will go. Finally nice to have something new to add to my set registry master set.
That's great - so you picked it up on ebay?
I know you have been asked this and I confess I don't remember.
Why BW?

I'm in the process of bidding on a couple right now but I just wanted to show it off a little. He has a base card, base card parallel numbered to 99 plus the auto I posted and a parallel of that numbered to 10.
When I was growing up in the 70's my dad was a huge Bucks fan. My parents had season tickets for a number of years and my cousin was even a ballboy from 1975-77. So for whatever reason I just thought he was a cool player. Not sure if it was his sweet jump shot or his cool fu-manchu moustache but whatever it was he was my guy. The funny story I always give my dad a hard time about was about a Bucks bumper sticker. When I was a little kid I was sick and couldn't go to the game so my dad went and after the game went down by the locker room to have Brian sign a bumper sticker for me. So he signed it "To Stevie Best Wishes Brian Winters". So my dad brings it home and shows it to me but kept it in his dresser for safe keeping. Well a year or so later he decided that it would look better stuck to the bumper of our car then for me to have it so that's what he did. To this day he shakes his head and can't imagine what the hell he was thinking when he did that!

Cool story Brian!
The bumper sticker would've been a great collectible.
Oh well - search ebay - ya never know what you will come up with?

I feel an affinity for Brian Winters soley because of your dedication.
I actually bid on a PSA graded Winters' card recently.

I've said this before - I really don't have any - one - player that I chase with the passion you have.
In fact, I have never had the focus that some have had in collecting.
I have great admiration for your devotion and diligence in your quest for Winters and your autos!
Keep'm comin!!!
thanx for sharing
