POP 1/10 means one graded at this level and 10 higher. Do you mean 1/0?

    What's happening on the Obverse?

One of ten isn't bad at all, but I imagine there are lots of unsearched PL sets out there.

  • Yes, I did mean 10/0, made a typo as well as did not look at the correct total amount graded. My apologies for the inaccurate information. I will agree that there are most likely quite a few that are sitting in someones safe or closet collecting dust so in essence this may not really mean much to most. This came from a Centenial set I sent to have graded. I also have another one I purchased that is still in the original case as well as still in the mint box it was shipped in. All of the silver coins from the set I sent to PCGS have beautiful toning on the reverse with the dime having an awesome "blue steel" like toning on both the obverse and reverse. The problem with the other silver coins is that the display box the mint put them in causes the obverse to tone in a vairety of unatractive ways due to the material that lines the box. I most likely could have dipped all of these coins and received a bump or two higher in grade than what they received but I am strong opponent of dipping. The gold coin received a PR-65 grade as the reverse is just absolutley perfect with the obverse showing a matte type finish/luster which I am sure dropped it out of a possible 66 or 67 grade. As far as the 50 cent coins obverse, the appearance of the grey scratchy type toning really detracts from the overall appearance but not from the coins actual strike and originality. Besides everyone knows that PCGS grades world coins more stringently that US coins. I am a US coin collector by nature but truley enjoy the fact that the Canadian mint has chosen to strike the majority of their coins with animals and birds on them.
