A personal "thanks" to Mitch (A.K.A. Wondercoin) & an apology to Russ in advance...

...for another Buffalo thread. image

I wanted to thank Mitch Spivack for what is my very first gold coin - a First Strike PCGS MS69 Gold Buffalo (and probably not my last either). And what a coin it is. This will be the first piece of gold that makes it into my deposit box at the bank. I have to say, Mitch has provided with nothing but TOP NOTCH coins for the past couple of years. Last night I picked up this beauty at the PO and nearly wrecked my car on the way home looking at it. UPDATED TO ADD FINAL PIC BELOW.

Thanks again Mitch...

Toby

    Toby: You are very welcome.

Bear in mind that PCGS has roughly only a 4%-5% MS70 grade through rate on these coins thus far (check what the other services numbers are) - and from among those other (95) or (96) MS69 coins out of (100) graded- it is not terribly difficult to select wonderful high end MS69 specimens for the collectors. Justin and I have personally examined 2,800 PCGS Buffalo Gold coins already since late June.

Enjoy that coin for years to come.

    Order placed. Thanks Mitch!

I look forward to adding this beauty to my collection.

Anyone else think this, along with the silver version, would look attractive in a PCGS Multi-holder?

    Braddick,

I had that same exact thought last week. In fact, I was going to take it a step further and put the MS & PR versions of the Silver Buff and Gold Buff in a holder...4 coins total. However, I decided against it for several reasons. The main reason being that I did not want to cross them to NGC. Let us know if you do it...I would love to see photos!

P.S. My multi-coin holder experience with NGC earlier last year was very positive. Their customer service that handles it is phenomenal. I didn't know there was such thing as a PCGS multi-holder. Do you have to know someone or what? image

I'm only about half sure on this, but I believe you have to be a Dealer to have the multi-holder offered and the deal is somwhat large. I think. Could be wrong?
    Mitch?
    Any other heavy submitters confirm?

But you're doubly right about the NGC multi-holder. The white core would make an attractive background for a four coin Buffalo set.

  • What is the pricing on the First Strike PCGS MS69 Gold Buffalo?

Pat: I do not know - I only slabbed multis (1) time ever and that was many years ago.

Please check my thread on BST for all information on the Buffalo FS coins.
