"Factory Set " Corners

How Tough is Psa on What I call Factory Set corners ? I notice the corners on factory sets are actually round instead of square, due to being wrapped in the cello all those years. They still look mint-like just different.
Anyone have any experience with Factory set cards and grades ?? All I have ever opened are Topps factory sets.

  • Donruss factory sets were made with slightly rounded corners. PSA doesn't ding you for that, in fact, 10's are much easier to come by than from wax or racks.

IMExperience it depends on who's grading them. Some graders don't seem to care, but for example all the Highlights sets have those factory corners and I've just been pounded on those in the past (and I've also gotten some very nice grades as well, which leads me to believe that different graders handle it differently). If you've got cards with factory corners, just send 'em in and pray they end up in the right guy's hands!!

I have seen a lot of 1985 Donruss get slammed by graders. Between me and a couple of other guys I know, Clemens always seems to come back a 7 or 8.
On another note, I believe factory set cards are cut ever so slightly shorter than their wax/rack counterparts.
    Wax/rack all the way!!!

A rounded or slightly dinged corner is a rounded or slightly dinged corner. Shouldn't matter where the card came from. If I got a 10 with rounded corners I wouldn't be happy.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
