DSL question

Has anyone ever used the "Ask seller a question" feature on a DSL auction and received a response? I used it four or five days ago on one of his (their?) current auctions and have yet to hear back. I've spent, what is to me, a boatload of $$$ on DSL auctions over the past couple years and have been the second highest bidder on a multitude of others, but it's apparently still not enough to buy me a prompt response to a simple question.

Yes, I have been responded to by them, for what it is worth.

They are busy, because of many good buyers like you.
The delivery end of their service is excellent, and their
customers get a good bang for the buck.

If they are slow to answer your questions, just keep
asking; a reply will - usually - eventually come.

    Or buying trimmed cards.

Most buyers factor in shipping costs, before they bid/buy.

I would NEVER buy a raw card on eBay, and expect the
transaction to be "satisfactory." The only cards I have
bought from DSL have been PSA. Often, I have been the
only bidder; I have always been satisfied with all aspects
    of their "service."

Granted, all I expect from them is to collect the money and
mail my items, so I guess I am easier to "satisfy" than
some other folks might be. I do not want a lot of "personal
contact" with any vendors; I just want my stuff delivered.

I buy from often and sometimes wait 2-3 weeks until I win 6 or more cards before sending payment. That way the S/H is $8 for as many as I win. They don't mind and I am able to cut S/H costs per card that way. I have bought 100's of cards from them and have always been satisfied.

$8 shipping for 3 cards or 15 cards is paying out the butt? you must be kidding.

how about you can settle your account up once a month for the same $8 and they don't nag you or neg your feedback. no they don't take paypal but they are not alone there. send them a money order and i never wait over two weeks from mailbox until the ups drivers rings my doorbell.

storm like you i have never bought a raw card from them or anyone over the internet so i don't know anything about this trimming theory. i didn't know that dsl sold raw cards.

in over 50 transactions i have had one issue where they sent me the wrong card instead of the one i bought. i called them up and it was taken care of promptly and courteously.
  • Actually you guys are probably partially right. Since I usually just buy 1-2 cards at a time and at $4 for one card and $6 for 2 it is ridiculous. I will try building up my order and draw it out next time but it will be awhile especially when I can buy from Mickeyssportscards and pay next to nothing in comparison for shipping and get excellent customer service AND use Paypal.

I agree with those who mentioned waiting a week or three and combining shipping. I have often waited 3 weeks and tallied up a bunch of auctions from DSL before paying, just to get that shipping rate. Seems perfectly fair in my book. I would take that any day over 4SC, or any of their 17 ebay ID's wihch wont combine shipping.

  • Their actually one of my favorite Ebay sellers. I win the cards, wait a month to settle & save on shipping & the cards are always packed extremely well. They are top notch in my book.
Bought so much from them, that many times they do not wait for the check to clear. Can't beat it. Always nice stuff too!

With all of the scamsters on eBay, JUST the "safe" nature of
dealing with DSL is well worth the absence of "hand-holding"
that may come with such dealings.

  • i like dsl also.. once, through no fault of their own, my cards were delivered to the rental office at my old apartment instead of my mail box and i was never notified and never thought to check.. so 2-3 weeks come and go and i'm still wondering where my cards are.. so i contact them and they did in fact handle it promptly and professionally and got back to me very quickly letting me know they had been received at the rental office by a mrs. whateverhernamewas, and then even followed up later to make sure i had got my cards. from my experiences with them, i actually thought customer service was one of their strong points, apart from the no pay pal thing, which always sucks as a buyer.

Never had a problem with DSL. E-mailed them when I was close to my GPA goal on my set and they came through with flying colors and put up several auctions of cards I needed.

Regarding the s/h fee's.....who cares what s/h fee's are! Just bid on the item for as much as you think the card is worth s/h included and don't lose sleep over such a trivial matter! It's all in how you look at the overall auction. S/H no matter what the cost is obviously just part of the overall cost of the card. Once you consider the fact that this dealer allows buyers to wait up to a month (as long as they are a consistant buyer no doubt) to buy cards before paying for them is proof that the dealer is not out to gouge their buyers regarding s/h!

How many dealers do you know of that have the number of cards across the board to buy week in and week out?

I bought 77 cards from them and paid only $8 shipping! I have had great experience with them and I will continue to do business with them. As far as ebay sellers goes, you'd have to search pretty hard to find someone better, unless you want your cards shipped to you in a Cherios box.

I've never had a problem with DSL or their shipping charges either, and I keep coming back to them, in part, for that reason. I posted this thread to try to gauge if they generally don't bother answering questions from their customers... I'm just a little irked that despite my repeat business, they can't take a few seconds to answer the one question I've ever bothered them with. I sent the question to them within a few hours of the start of the auction. There's now only a few hours left in the auction, and still no response.

The sad thing is that I'll still bid on the dang card... Maybe they know that. image
