Question
Definition of “stored in files offline”
Answer
To improve system performance and response time, information for Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation, Certified and Registered barcodes are archived (moved to offline storage) every 60 days. Express Mail, Global Express Mail and Global Express Guarantee barcodes are archived every 90 days.
Archive information can be restored for labels on the Track & Confirm website and the toll-free number for retail labels. When a restoration request is made, all event information will be restored, usually within 2-4 hours. On rare occasions, the restoration process may take up to 24 hours.
Question
Time frame to restore a record
Answer
Your request online will only take a matter of seconds. However, processing the request generally takes about 2-4 hours. In limited cases, it can take up to 24 hours. When you make your query, the Track & Confirm system will indicate if your item is stored off-line (archived), pending restoration, or restored.
