Well, I can't/won't be buying cards for awhile

Looks like the kid is gonna be officially unemployed by the end of the month. Yup, I'm getting laid off. I think it's a nicer way of saying "we don't need your stupid ass anymore". I'm going on vacation for 6 months via a la unemployment checks. I guess my card buying days will come to a complete halt for the time being....unless I win the $28 million dollar first place at the WSOP on July 28th. image

Joe Orlando, can I send you a resume? Let's do lunch.

Did you win a seat into the WSOP? I'll be out there too playing some of the smaller buyin tourneys.

Hey Lee, same here....I don't have the 10 grand for the main event, but I may play in the smaller ones for $1,500 - $2,500. I have about 10 more tourneys to play (one this Sunday for $125) to try and win a seat at my local casino. They gave away 2 seats to the main event last Sunday when they were suppose to only give away 1, but the turnout was huge. They gave 2 $10,000 seats, 1 $2,500 seat, and 1 $1,500 seat, and the rest at the final table got cash.

Sorry to hear about your job - but it looks like you have a secondary job/source of income?

I hope you find something really fast.

My son came to us just the other day and said he was tired of working for nothing - he's 23 and a high school degree type...

After we were done talking for real - I told him I found a job in the paper for 50$/hr. He said - wow - what is the job?

I told him...straightening bull's horns. He said, sounds good - how do you do that? I said - with your ass!

    Mike:

Is Dad giving Son some advice on "the few the proud," and the "army of one?"

Bet he's had some exposure, between you and the bases near San Antone.

I have a daughter who should sign up, though in these times it does make a parent nervous.

Eagle - sorry to hear of your impending layoff. What do you do?

He has no use for military service. And yes, on the nerve thing.

I did tell him - if he has nothing going by Jan 07...

I'm gonna be driving him to the recruiter myself.

Mike, you are a knucklehead. Too funny.
I don't have anything lined up yet. I think I'm just going
to kick it for awhile and just play poker. I need the time off
anyways. This whole lay off doesn't really bother me at all.
I was getting burned out anyways.

And to answer your question Keith. Im a Forensic Science Technician. I still have the knife that O.J. Simpson gave me
and he autographed it too. Should I put it on Ebay?

My plans for the next few months:
    1) Go see Nacho Libre
    2) Go see Superman Returns
    3) My wife wants to go see the Grand Canyon....ugh!
    4) Vegas every other weekend.
    5) Switch from Bud Light to Coors Light
    6) BBQ every other weekend.
This will just take me up to August. Afterwards, I may just do a lot of
road trips. Go see a bunch of old friends I haven't seen in years.

What time should I be over this weekend for the BBQ? I'll bring Coors Light and poker chips.

Good luck on the job search in the future. If i lose my job i will be going pro as a handicapper ( horse racing). I found out this past year in Vegas i can compete with the Big Boysimage. Just read the Racing Form upside down and it will all make sense.

Greatest line in any movie is in Raising Arizona. William Forsyth to Nicolas Cage

"H.I., you're young and you got your health, what you want with a job for?"

Bryan, all 6 of those are better than working. You may be unemployed, but you will be my hero!
Orioles cards from 1960 to today.

    Be good my brothers.

One door closes, another will open. You have good health and family is ok? that is all that matters.

    Good Luck to you.
